About Me

I grew up in Houston as the daughter of a German mom and Indian (South Asian) dad. I am a 50-something year old mother of three. I went to Texas A&M University for undergrad and then to The University of Denver to obtain a Masters in Counseling Psychology in 1998, and now live in Austin. My favorite life experience was studying abroad in Italy and learning a tiny bit of Italian. When I’m not in session, I love hiking, spin class, and traveling to Mexico.

What are my Specialties?

I mostly do talk therapy, and also do EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Sand Tray therapy for treatment of pain, trauma, anxiety, grief and loss. I work with all types of folks, especially moms, teens, and young adults. I like to work with other Asian Americans and “third culture kids,” who grow up in places that are not their parents’ homeland.

I have worked with college students dealing with acculturation and careers, women who just gave birth, people navigating bumpy relationships , and people who have faced complex trauma and violence, among others.

I also run a FREE online peer support group on Mondays at 12 called Mamas for Mamas. We are a place to feel accepted and heard around topics such as Baby Blues, Postpartum Depression and Anxiety. Send me a message on my Contact Me page if you’re interested in participating.
